A bit of history

mobile games

Mobile games are a type of video games designed for the cell phone screen. They differ from regular games in control methodology (touch screen is used), specific gameplay, honed by spending a small amount of time in games (usually in transport, subway, during trips to and from work), casual, while usually also aggressive monetization – many such games are created by means of banal cloning with minimal changes in order to get more money.

The first mobile games were unremarkable, they were mostly puzzle games like Sapero, 3 in a row, tic-tac-toe. With the development of mobile technology first popular embedded games appeared: Stack Attack for Siemens, Snake and Space Impact for Nokia.

In the mid-2000s, the first Java-based push-button smartphones appeared, and the wave of popularity of classic mobile games of that time began. The brightest representatives:

Gravity Defied
GTA clones
Worms
Asphalt Urban
Splinter Cell
Bobby Carrot
Bomberman

Also developed many mobile clones of traditional PC games, usually with very truncated levels and features.

The current stage of development of mobile games took place after the creation of touch phones, which have been supplied with a powerful and high quality processor, and also had a quality screen, so that is natural and on this platform began the development of games. A good feature of these games was the fact that they could be played in public transport, where it is usually boring (you just have to wait for the arrival), and they naturally spread to many ordinary people looking for something to do at this time (and many are spent in the same subway for literally an hour or more every day).

Another good feature of the casual audience was that since they were mostly people with jobs, they were happy to play simple games, but also had a lot of money that they were willing to put into the game for the sake of getting through it quickly or defeating an opponent in PvP. So a characteristic feature of the monetization of the games has become a scheme in which it is offered to buy some substantial game resources for real money, which greatly increases the opportunities player, the prices are usually very different for the same people – from 50 rubles and up to many thousands (for vhale).

Now spread hundreds and thousands of mobile games in different genres, the most profitable was the genre gacha, which provides an opportunity to obtain items with a small chance for real money, similar to roulette in the casino – with the resulting objects are very useful, this or strong heroes, or rare equipment. As a result, such games have become very big money, up to billions of dollars, which classic games can only dream of.
