mobile games

Standoff 2 is the most popular analog of CS:GO for mobile. Why is the game loved by many players? What to expect from it? Learn about it in our Standoff 2 review guide and decide if you should play it.

You’ve probably heard of CS:GO or even played it, but just in case we’ll cover the topic in more detail. CS:GO or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a team shooter in which players are divided into teams of terrorists and special forces (counter-terrorists), and must perform a specific task – to disarm or plant a bomb, shoot a team of enemies and more. At the moment, GO – the latest version of the original Counter-Strike, which appeared long ago in 1999 as a modification of the not less well-known Half-Life. The game became very famous, became independent and has gone through many changes and variations.

Returning to Standoff 2, we can confidently say that it has taken the best of CS and interpreted it for mobile devices. Terrorist and military teams also fight here, and it only takes one lucky enemy turn to die. Nevertheless, you can do the same by learning gameplay tricks.

Don’t think that Standoff 2 is the only example of such a game. On Google Play there are other good analogues of “kontra”, such as Modern Strike Online or Critical Ops. But Standoff 2 is the closest to its ancestor. Let’s find out why.

1) Standoff 2 is characterized by the highest rate of the game. No matter what mode you have chosen, the game sessions will be as fast as possible, no more than 10 minutes. This is suitable for smartphone owners who want to pass the time for the game on the road or somewhere in line. This feature also has a positive effect on the feeling of the gameplay. You do not get hung up on defeats or victories and just go into a new match. The tempo of the game is determined not only by the timer. It is also influenced by small, but full of shelters and important positions maps, high speed of movement and shooting, constant contact of opponents.

2) Standoff 2 boasts the presence of 3 main game modes, each of which runs like clockwork. These are:

“Team Combat,” where the team with the most kills wins.
“Bombing,” where the terrorists plant a bomb and the SWAT team defuses it.
“Arms Race”, where you have to kill opponents as quickly as possible with certain weapons.

3) The game is pleased with the elaborate skins. Skins are the texture of the weapon, its coloring, and they are obtained from the boxes. Also you can become the owner of the unique colors of the guns, if you constantly play and collect dozens of simple skins, and then create from them more rare.

4) There is no pay-to-win condition in Standoff 2, despite the free distribution model. No player has any level or pumped up weapon that gives you an advantage. The only thing you can spend real money on in the game is those weapon skins.
